needle exchange notice The RSA Drugs Commission is an independent body. Its members are drawn from various fields and disciplines - some from the policing and treatment of drug abuse, but others from business, local government, health and social services, parliament, the professions and academia.

A non-partisan body

The Commission is a non-partisan body, working towards its recommendations free of the pressures which restrict open discussion of this subject in the context of party politics.

'Drugs: facing facts'

Over the course of its existence the Commission has met on a monthly basis to consider illegal drugs and public policy. Its reflections formed the basis of a report, 'Drugs: facing facts', published in March 2007.
